about ack
My name is Alexa Kenney and I am the creator and founder of ACK. ACK started when I was 14 years old, painting clothing by hand in my basement. I would spend hours experimenting with designs and creating pieces that I loved wearing myself. When friends began asking for them and people kept complimenting the designs, I started selling them. Very quickly, the demand grew and pieces began selling out. As my passion for lacrosse grew and I worked toward playing in college, the brand temporarily took a step back while I focused on school and athletics. During my senior year of high school, I came up with the original “X” design, sketched it in class, and began researching manufacturers. After producing my first samples, the response was incredible, and I began producing pieces in bulk and launching new designs. When I arrived at Boston College, I restarted the brand while balancing the demands of being a student-athlete. I even built my website myself by teaching myself through YouTube tutorials and managed orders while traveling back and forth between school and home to fulfill them. After 2.5 years playing on the BC women’s lacrosse team, I made the difficult decision to step away so I could fully dedicate myself to growing ACK. The lessons I learned from being part of such a strong team—discipline, resilience, and community—continue to shape how I run my business today. ACK represents comfort, effortless style, confidence, and creativity, designed for people who are always on the move but want to feel good in what they wear. Beyond clothing, the brand is also committed to giving back, supporting organizations such as No Kid Hungry and St. Mary’s Center for Women and Children.
